Spice Up The World!

That was truly beautiful.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” ~Matthew 5:13 ESV

Ah. Is it just me or is the world becoming really . . . bland? Wow, Satan certainly ain’t a chef. He got no taste. And he adds deadly poisons to God’s meals! Like: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, and factions. (Gal 5:19-20).

HELP ADD FLAVOUR TO THE WORLD! This reblog includes a great post which talks about adding flavour to the world through the importance of challening, caring for and connecting with one another.

The author of “Blogging and The Accident of Touching“, Deborah J. Brasket , mentioned that she uses blogging as a way to touch people’s lives. She has used her own gift in writing and has blessed many people because of it. And as a result of that, she added a little bit more flavour to the world, her own unique taste.

You see, I am not very good at articulating words. And I’m certainly not very good at blogging, unlike she is. And maybe this isn’t cut out for me, but I’m trusting in Him. Because maybe one day, this will touch even just one person’s heart. And when that happens, I’ll be out on the streets praising The Lord! 🙂

Moreover, every single person in this tasteless world have each been blessed with special gifts and talents. We have to and need to use them to unite and ignite a new burning flame in the lost, chained and broken hearts. A hot, passionate fire burning for God.

By the way, just trust in God as He will be your guide, and just keep doing the right and good thing in your own kind of special way, and you will surely and undoubtedly be saving hearts and touching people’s lives. In that way you’ve let your life become a proof of His Love.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. -1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV)

Deborah J. Brasket, Writer

The_Creation_Michelangelo“The accident of touching / is so rare! Sometimes / I pause my hand on purpose / and hope to find yours there.”

These are the last lines of a poem I wrote long ago.

But I realize now that’s what this blog is all about, a way of “pausing my hand on purpose,” and hoping to find you there.

It’s all about touching, isn’t it? Touching others with our lives, our insights and understanding, our memories and dreams, our poetry and art. Blogging meets this basic human need—to touch others and be touched in return.

Peter_Paul_Rubens_105_1We’ve all heard how physical touching is essential to human health and happiness. They say people can shrivel up and die for want of being touched or having someone to touch. A simple pat on the shoulder, a hug, a hand squeeze can make all the difference. Merely having a pet, they say, saves lives.

But there’s a basic…

Did we take life’s simple pleasures for granted?

  • A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life.
  • The rich can be sued for everything they have, but the poor are free of such threats.
  • The lives of good people are brightly lit streets; the lives of the wicked are dark alleys.
  • Arrogant know-it-alls stir up discord, but wise men and women listen to each other’s counsel.
  • Easy come, easy go, but steady diligence pays off.
  • Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.
  • Ignore the Word and suffer; honor God’s commands and grow rich.
  • The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, so, no more drinking from death-tainted wells!
  • Sound thinking makes for gracious living, but liars walk a rough road.
  • A commonsense person lives good sense; fools litter the country with silliness.
  • Irresponsible talk makes a real mess of things, but a reliable reporter is a healing presence.
  • Refuse discipline and end up homeless; embrace correction and live an honored life.
